How to Use the Elevator
Push the call button.
Wait for a bit and gently try to open the outside door. The outside door will only open if the elevator has arrived on your floor and has completely stopped.
Gently pull the inside gate open.
Enter the elevator.
Close the outside door. Make sure it clicks shut.
Close the inside gate all the way. Make sure it clicks.
Select the floor you’d like to go to.
Make sure the elevator stops COMPLETELY, then open the inside gate.
Open the outside door.
Step outside of the elevator.
Close the inside gate and make sure it clicks shut.
Close the outside door and make sure it clicks shut.
Note: If you do not close the inside gate all the way, it will cause all of the outside doors to lock. If you open the gate and exit the elevator before it has come to a complete stop, it will cause all of the outside doors to lock. Either of these issues will prevent you from accessing the elevator and you will need a special key to open the outside door.
If you are sure that the gate was shut completely and all doors are closed but the elevator still isn’t moving, go to the kitchen elevator door and push it in to make sure it is closed snugly and push the button. If the gate is shut securely and all doors are shut, this will get the elevator to the ground floor and it will once again be operational.
